Mongolia is a magnificent place to discover an ancient culture, photograph the grand desert landscapes at the heart of the Gobi Desert, and enjoy the famous hospitality of its people. The first part of our Mongolian adventure is devoted to the south of the country, where the most famous dunes of the Gobi are found. It is a land of canyons, deserts, splendid mountains, and ancient culture. We meet and photograph the locals and organize sessions with camel herders crossing the sands. Private sessions are arranged especially for us with two Bactrian camels, and we visit the most extraordinary sites in southern Mongolia. We stay in traditional ger camps and photograph not only the landscapes: it is the perfect blend of nature and culture.
In addition to the Gobi, we organize a very special event in western Mongolia. Each year, the Eagle Hunters’ Festival takes place in Mongolia. But we have chosen not to be in the crowd and instead create our own small festival reserved for a private group of 6 to 15 photographers. Moreover, after this private festival, we visit the most beautiful mountain sites, accompanied by 3 to 5 eagle hunters, to capture stunning photographs of western Mongolia. This will be a journey where you can combine cultural experience, portrait and genre photography, as well as landscape photography. Mongolia is a land of wild beauty and untouched nature.
We travel in specially prepared Toyota Land Cruisers with local drivers, and stay in hotels or gers equipped with beds.
Upon arrival at Chinggis Khaan International Airport (ULN), our drivers will welcome you and take you to your hotel. At 7:00 p.m., we will meet in the hotel lobby to share a welcome dinner. This will be the perfect opportunity to discuss the upcoming photo tour and get to know each other. Accommodation is arranged in a comfortable hotel located just five minutes from Sükhbaatar Square. (Dinner included)
You may choose any flight arriving in Ulaanbaatar before 5:00 p.m. Convenient connections are available via Beijing, Seoul, and Hong Kong. Please note that the flight from Istanbul is not included in the package. For a more relaxed start, we recommend arriving one day earlier to rest and, depending on your arrival time, possibly enjoy a short city tour.
After breakfast, we set off in a comfortable Toyota Land Cruiser 200, heading south across the vast Mongolian steppe. The drive takes about 4 to 5 hours and offers endless horizons, giving a true sense of the country’s immensity.
Around midday, we reach Tsagaan Suvarga, a spectacular cliff formation stretching 400 meters long and rising 40 meters high. Once an ancient seabed, its stratified sedimentary structure reveals striking colored bands, each corresponding to a different geological era. At sunset, the landscape transforms into a surreal palette of light and shadow — an unforgettable moment for photographers and adventurers alike.
Overnight at the Caravanserai Resort, a comfortable tourist camp.

We rise early this morning and begin our journey south toward Dalanzadgad and the legendary Khongor dunes. The drive takes about 6 to 7 hours across the vast Mongolian steppe, offering endless horizons and glimpses of nomadic life along the way.
After this long journey, we settle for the night in a tourist ger camp. Depending on our arrival time, we may enjoy a first photo session at sunset on the dunes, when the golden light transforms the desert into a striking spectacle.
Your stay in the ger camp includes:
Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We begin the day with a sunrise photo session on the Khongor dunes, a spectacular stretch of sand extending more than 170 km. Considered one of the most beautiful and vast dune formations in Mongolia, the Khongor dunes offer endless curves and grand horizons that glow under the first rays of morning light. As the sun rises, the distant mountains take on pinkish hues, creating a striking backdrop for photography.
Camels and their herders will join us for a portrait and staged session in the heart of the dunes, adding authentic cultural depth to our images. Later in the day, we return to the dunes for a sunset shoot, followed by a night photography session under the vast Gobi sky — an ideal opportunity to capture starry landscapes and the silent majesty of the desert.
Overnight in the same tourist ger camp, equipped with electricity for your comfort.
Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We rise early for a sunrise photo session on the Khongor dunes, capturing the golden light that illuminates the vast desert landscape. After breakfast, we leave the camp and head toward Bayanzag, famously known as the Flaming Cliffs.
We arrive in the afternoon to explore this world-renowned paleontological site, celebrated for the first discovery of dinosaur eggs. Other remarkable finds here include fossils of velociraptors and primitive mammals, making Bayanzag both a scientifically significant and visually fascinating location.
In the evening, we photograph the sunset from panoramic viewpoints overlooking the cliffs. As night falls, the sandstone formations ignite with deep red and orange hues, offering unforgettable images.
Overnight in a tourist camp equipped with showers and electricity. We will spend one night here.

We rise early for a sunrise photo session, capturing the first light of day. After breakfast, we leave the camp and begin our long journey back to Ulaanbaatar, a drive of about 8 to 10 hours across Mongolia’s vast landscapes.
In the evening, we arrive in the capital and settle into a comfortable hotel, where you can relax after this day of travel.

This morning, we take a domestic flight (about 3 hours, departing between 6:00 and 8:00 a.m., to be confirmed) from Ulaanbaatar to the city of Ölgii, gateway to the Altai Mountains.
After breakfast, we head to a spectacular sunset location at the foot of the Altai. Here, we will enjoy private photo sessions with 3 to 5 eagle hunters, capturing portraits and action scenes against the backdrop of the majestic sacred Mount Tsambagarav (4,208 m). The site offers a breathtaking 360° panorama — jagged rocky peaks on one side and snow-capped summits on the other.
Overnight in a simple but comfortable hotel in Ölgii, equipped with showers and Wi‑Fi. The ideal place to recharge, refresh, and warm up after a day in the field.
Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
This morning, we allow ourselves a well-deserved rest, skipping the sunrise photo session to prepare for a truly special day. We will attend a private eagle hunters’ festival, organized exclusively for our group, featuring Kazakh hunters on horseback, dressed in dark coats and scarlet headgear, proudly carrying their majestic golden eagles on their arms.
The festival is hosted by local families dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of Kazakh falconry. You will have the rare opportunity to approach the golden eagles – and even welcome one onto your arm. Each hunter will be available for private portrait sessions, ensuring authentic and intimate photographic encounters.
Unlike the public festival, often crowded at this time of year, our private gathering is designed specifically for photographers. With 4 to 6 eagle hunters, we will have countless shooting opportunities in varied settings: spectacular mountain ridges, winding rivers, and reflective marshy meadows where splashes of water add dynamic energy to your images.
Each eagle hunter will be available for personal portraits, welcoming our group with warmth and hospitality. The atmosphere will feel like being on a film set- grand landscapes, traditional Kazakh costumes, and majestic golden eagles – ensuring you return with hundreds of striking images, free from crowds or distractions.
After this unforgettable day, we drive back to Ölgii (about 1 to 1.5 hours). Accommodation in a simple but comfortable hotel, equipped with showers and Wi‑Fi, ideal for recharging yourself and your equipment.
Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
We enjoy a traditional morning of rest before having lunch in the city of Ölgii. In the afternoon, we drive (about one hour on a paved road) to the magnificent Lake Tolbo, a deep-blue alpine lake surrounded by spectacular rocky panoramas.
On site, we meet two eagle hunters for another unforgettable photo session. At sunset, you will have the chance to capture portraits bathed in golden light or compose dramatic images with a hunter in the background, highlighting the vastness of the landscape.
After the session, we return to Ölgii for the night. Accommodation in a simple but comfortable hotel, equipped with showers and Wi‑Fi – the ideal place to recharge yourself and your equipment.

Protection & Essentials
In Ulaanbaatar, participants stay in comfortable 4‑star hotels. During the Gobi Desert portion of the journey, accommodation is provided in traditional ger (yurt) camps, with two people per ger. Some camps are equipped with modern sanitary facilities, both indoors and outdoors, and meals are served in a ger specially arranged as a dining hall.
Please note that there is no Wi‑Fi in the Gobi, and cellular/Internet connection is limited. For better coverage, we recommend using a MOBICOM SIM card. There are no hotels in the Gobi, but the ger camps are warm and well-maintained. Any minor inconveniences will be more than compensated for by the striking, untouched beauty of the surrounding nature throughout your stay in Mongolia.
Vegetarian options are available, although the variety of vegetables may be limited in certain regions. Breakfast typically includes bacon and eggs, toast with Nutella, sausages, juice, and coffee. Lunch and dinner feature fresh salads, hearty soups, and a choice of meat, pasta, or rice dishes.
